Polyurethane is applied through the direct and simultaneous spraying of its components onto the surface to be treated. To do this, you need specific equipment that pumps the mixture components at the appropriate pressure and temperature so the foam acquires the desired thickness and characteristics depending on its intended use.

Its applications are multiple, as sprayable polyurethane is used for thermal and acoustic insulation of facades and roofs, for waterproofing and moisture treatment, for floor insulation, and also for protecting exposed elements and structures against fire, as it is a fire-resistant material.

• Labor: rates can vary from one professional to another. On average, they can charge around 20 €/hour.
• Polyurethane thickness: the minimum thickness to achieve good insulation is 30 mm, however, depending on the climate and the surface where it will be applied, greater thickness may be necessary. This can vary the budget proportionally to the required thickness and would not be less than 20%.
• Density: the density can also be different depending on what is intended with the application of sprayed polyurethane insulation and the existing condensation risk. The optimal average density can be around 35 kg/m³. If higher, the budget can increase by more than 30%.
• Fire resistance rating: when polyurethane is sprayed on surfaces with fire risk or with the intention of protecting a structure against it, it is necessary to use a material type with specific fire-resistant characteristics, which will also increase the cost of the work.

Polyurethane foam applied by spraying acts as an excellent barrier against water filtration and moisture. When applied to facades, it achieves maximum impermeability.

• On a sloped roof of about 50 m², applying a layer of sprayed polyurethane insulation with a density of 35 kg/m³ and a thickness of 30 mm on the structure will cost approximately 700 €.
• Applying sprayed polyurethane to party walls of about 40 m² will cost approximately 1,000 € if applying insulation with 40 mm thickness and a minimum density of 45 kg/m³, protected with polyurethane elastomer with a density of 1000 kg/m³ and between 1.5 and 3 mm thickness.
