Step-by-step plan of your kitchen project with Reformya
A clear brief helps professionals give sharper prices and better advice. Here is what to keep in mind before you get quotes.
1. Define your new kitchen
A clear brief helps professionals give sharper prices and better advice. Here is what to keep in mind before you get quotes.
Start by deciding how you want the kitchen to work in everyday life: where you cook, eat and store things, and how people move through the space. Note what already works, what must change and any constraints such as existing windows, doors or structural walls.
2. Build a realistic budget
Use the price guide ranges to choose a budget band that fits your home and goals. Separate the cost of core items like cabinets, worktop and appliances from optional upgrades, and keep a small buffer for unexpected issues such as hidden defects or extra electrical work.
Start by deciding how you want the kitchen to work in everyday life: where you cook, eat and store things, and how people move through the space. Note what already works, what must change and any constraints such as existing windows, doors or structural walls.
3. Check rules, timing and logistics
Before requesting quotes, confirm any building rules about work hours, noise, waste disposal and use of lifts or common areas.
- Think about the best period for works, how long you can live without a full kitchen, and where materials and tools can be stored safely during the project.
- Think about what absolutely needs to change, what would be nice to improve, and what can stay as it is for now.
- Being honest about your priorities and limits makes it easier to decide where to invest more and where to keep things simple.
4. Prepare your brief for professionals
Gather photos, simple measurements and a short description of your desired layout, finishes and appliances. Share this brief on Reformya so professionals can understand your space without a first visit, then compare their proposed budgets, timelines and approaches before choosing who to hire.

What can change your final price
Even kitchens of similar size can end with different budgets. These are the factors that most often push costs up or down.
Kitchen size and layout complexity
More cabinets, corners, tall units and islands increase both material and labour costs. Simple, linear layouts are cheaper to build.
Materials and appliance brands
Premium fronts, stone worktops and high-end appliances can easily double the budget compared with basic options.
Structural and layout changes
Moving walls, doors or key installations adds demolition, structural checks and extra trades on top of the base renovation.
Condition of existing installations
Old wiring, weak plumbing or damp problems can require remedial work before the new kitchen is installed.
